1: The Promise

Empress: What? Arrange marriage? Where the hell did you get that idea? Where not Chinese or Japanese to practice that kind of thing!

Aileen: you can’t do anything about that arrange marriage because my decision and your dad’s decision are final. Please try to understand everything; we’re just doing this for your own good our Empress.

Empress: Pero Mama naman, hindi naman uso dito sa States yang ganyang bagay!

Enrico: wag ka ng mag-dahilan dahil wala ka na rin namang magagawa!

                This is so b*llshit! Is there anyone out there you can tell me kung sino ba ang nagpa-uso nyang arrange marriage na yan at ng mabigyan ko ng isang aral na hindi nya makaka-limutan! God, sa pagkaka-alam ko sa mga Japanese or Chinese lang uso yung mga ganyang set-up, pati pala sa Mama at Papa ko uso din.

Empress: dapat pala hindi na lang ako umuwi dito ng hindi pa nasira ang araw ko. Ang layo ng pinang-galingan ko tapos eto lang yung sasabihin nyo sa akin.

Aileen: don’t talk to us like that Empress Aiko! We do not raise you para lang sagutin mo kami ng ganyan ng Papa mo.

Empress: gaaaaahhhddd!!! Babalik na ako ng New York!!! And please lang Ma and Pa, ngayon pa lang sabihin nyo na dun sa family na kausap ninyo na hindi ko gagawin ang gusto ninyo. I can find my own happiness; I can find my own husband without those arrange marriage!!! Good day everyone, bye!

                This is really sh*t! How come they come up to that kind of decision without even asking my opinion to think na yung future ko yung nakasalalay! Nakaka-inis sila!!! I will never ever marry that guy, baka mamaya bad breath pa yun!

Empress: Jade, please call my travel agency and get a flight going to the Philippines as soon as possible.

Jade: why so sudden Empress? Something happened?

Empress: that’s none of your business Jade, go call my travel agency.

Jade: oh right Mam Empress.

                I have to check-in sa isang hotel bilang ayoko na talagang umuwi sa bahay. Until now I feel that anger inside me, God! Naiinis ako sa parents ko dahil sa ginawa nila, why did they do such stupid thing? I really don’t understand why!!!

Aileen: saan ka pupunta Empress Aiko? Bumalik ka dito at hindi pa tayo tapos mag-usap ng Papa mo.

Empress: hindi na ako babalik jan sa bahay hanggang hindi kayo nagti-tigil jan sa gusto nyong arrange marriage na yan! Promise yan Ma! Aalis na ako!

Aileen: Empress!!!

                Twenty four na ako pero pilit pa rin nanghihimasok sa buhay ko ang parents ko. I’m earning my own dollars, hindi na ako humihingi ng kahit na isang cent sa kanila. Hindi naman sa hindi ako marunong tumanaw ng utang na loob, it’s just that that’s too much. Pati ba naman sa pagpili ng makakasama ko habangbuhay pakekelaman nila, I think that’s too much already.

Empress: Hello Jade, how is it?

Jade: your flight will be tomorrow in the afternoon at exactly two in the afternoon, I’ll send you your ticket.

Empress: that’s good, thanks Jade, I know I can always count on you.

Jade: that’s nothing Ms. Empress. How long will you stay there?

Empress: when my parents stop their non-sense request, or maybe until I found the right one for me.

Jade: good luck Mr. Empress to that, but how about Julius?

Empress: we already broke before I go here at California.

Jade: why? You said he’s the one already?

Empress: he fooled me, he just got married last week.

Jade: that guy, I can kill him because of what he did to you.

                Julius was my boyfriend before I go here, but before I decided to visit my parents to say that I finally found the one I saw him with another girl. Ok lang naman sana kung maganda yung pinakasalan nya, kaya lang hindi ee. Niloko na nga nya ako, sana man lang pinag-palit naman nya ako sa mas maganda para naman hindi masyadong nakaka-inis at nakaka-galit at nakaka-insulto.

Empress: thanks to that Jade but, I don’t want you to waste your life to that assh*le ugly guy!

Jade: hope you can find the man of your life when you reach Philippines.

Empress: thanks Jade, really. I need to hang up, I’ll check my tickets. Bye!

Oliver: maybe we can go somewhere private, so that we can talk about so many things.

Joan: your place or mine?

Oliver: but I want to clear things before we go somewhere. I do hate commitments, no feelings involve because I don’t want a demanding partner that’s I never wanted to commit.

Joan: that’s fine with, I also hate commitments! So, where we gonna go?

Oliver: maybe we can check-in in a hotel, that’s more convenient.

Joan: let’s go then.

Oliver: arrrggghhh!! D*mn, ang sakit na naman ng ulo ko!

               

                Ang aga-aga may tumatawag na agad? Hindi ba naiisip nitong tao na to na nagpa-pahinga pa ang karamihan sa ganitong oras? Nakaka-asar lang talaga, mas nakaka-asar pa kasi nagising na naman ako sa isang hotel kasama ang isang babae na hindi ko na matandaan ang pangalan. Pumasok muna ako sa cr bago ko sagutin yung nag-iingay kong cellphone.

Oliver: hello!

Nathan: anak ng tipaklong naman Oliver, nasaan ka na naman ba? Anong oras na wala ka pa rin dito hanggang ngayon, baka nakakalimutan mo may meeting tayo today?

                Asar! Paano ko nakalimutan yung meeting namin today? Mabubusod na naman ako nito sa sermon ng masungit na si Jonathan Lopez, hay nako!

Oliver: I’m so sorry dude, I forgot about the meeting.

Nathan: nam-babae ka na naman! Oliver mag-sawa ka naman jan, ang dami mo ng babaeng pinapa-iyak!

Oliver: ulul mo Nathan, sa ating dalawa ikaw ang mas madaming pina-iyak na babae.

Nathan: but that’s not the issue now Kevin Oliver Parker Roxas. Why are you not here for today’s meeting? Oliver umayos ka!

Oliver: I’m on my way there, please give me thirty minutes.

Nathan: thirty minutes? Mag-hanap ka ng magiging ka-meeting mo pagdating mo dito, you know I hate waiting. Bye!

                Haaaay!!! Maka-ligo na nga at ng maka-alis na dito. Ayoko na talaga ng ganitong klaseng buhay, ayoko ng mam-babae, wala naman akong napapala ditong magandan, napapabayaan ko pati trabaho ko. After ng isang mabilis na ligo, lumabas na agad ako ng banyo at nabihis.

Joan: that was great Kevin, I hope we can do it again some other time.

Oliver: I don’t think we can do that again.

Joan: now you’re acting a good one huh! Well, that’s none of my business anyway. I hope we couldn’t see each other anymore.

Oliver: I’m wishing for that too, adios!

                Promise, hindi na talaga ako pupunta sa mga bar na maraming babae. I’ll try my best to stay away from those beautiful, hot and sexy ladies. I also promise na kung sino man ang magiging girlfriend ko next week, at kung seryoso sya sa akin, seseryosohin ko na din sya.
